These projects were developed and created using the Adobe Suite with some additional software as well as utilizing my video artwork.
THe Groove
This is a promotional video created for my UC Bearcast Media radio show, The Groove. Starting with the text, I matched a variety of bold typefaces with others that reflected the titles nostalgic theme. After putting together a quick-cutting sequence in After Effects, my co-host and I shot the background video using a projector and an audio-reactive video box. I then took a series of stills from the footage and stitched them together in a relative pacing to the text. Taking influence from experimental 60’s film typography as well as 90’s Japanese stop-motion, this was a fun combination of styles.
Brand Standard Don’ts
Video illustrating what not to do with the logo from the up-and-coming “Mal Means Good” brand.
Live Visuals - in2itiv3 ep release show
These artist titles were created for the EP release show for the band IN2ITIV3. Each title would play in tandem with their set; projected over the performers, as well as on multiple televisions in the corners of the stage. I set out to match the visuals with the musical style performers; IN2ITIV3’s psychedelic punk funk, The Bellowing Pines’ indie-rock vibe, as well as the funky and soulful stylings of Jaybee Lamahj.
The text graphics were created in After Effects, with some background videos edited in Premiere. Additional backgrounds were made with analog generative and glitch effects. All were then recorded onto VHS and sent through an analog video mixer, where I then keyed out the black surrounding the titles to show the backgrounds. The results were then recorded back to digital via camera.
SUbject #0017
This project consists of 16-individual videos, strung together for a 16-screen display in the University of Cincinnati’s TUC commons area. I came up with a visual narrative that would show a laboratory experiments development and analysis along multiple screens before ultimately crashing and escaping the system.
The “subject” was created using video feedback and different effects with my camera and VHS tapes. I used After Effects to create the text as well as edit and stitch all the videos together for the final assemblage on the TV’s .
Smoking kills
A final project for an After Effects course, Smoking Kills is an intro for a TV show or YouTube series. I used After Effects to toggle hold keyframes every few frames then sped them up to create the illusion of stop motion. Editing to the beat and having visuals matching the music were essential in this project.
Juno
This was a preview reveal of the cover for a demo I recorded titled, ‘Juno’. The style of the song is synth-pop, so I wanted vibrant 80’s colors and geometric shapes to be featured. Additionally basing the design around Jean Girard’s bold color and hard lines, I created a clipping mask around a series of multicolored circles to create the design. I then matched the chords and bass of the songs intro to the circles revealing and filling in the text. All of this was created in Illustrator and After effects.
